Standards-Based Learning Workshops

Teaching in the standards-based classroom requires significantly more than simply knowing the standards. A true focus on standards in the classroom requires a teacher to understand multiple elements of a standards-based learning environment, including planning, instruction, assessment, and feedback. This session will present a thoughtful and logical approach to planning for and delivering a high-quality opportunity to learn that increases the potential for students to acquire understanding of the knowledge and skills included in standards. Participants will walk away with information, insights, and ideas as well as a plethora of resources for use in their own classrooms.

This 2-Day Workshop will emphasize the importance of starting with the rationale and process for prioritizing standards in standards-based grading rather than starting with the grading system.

In this interactive two-day learning opportunity, the presenter explores how to ensure classroom assessments are not only based on standards but also on high-quality tools and processes that provide accurate information about learning related to these standards.
